Here is an excerpt from my novel Holiday Murders.
Stephanie is in her prison cell, when she was called saying there was a visitor to see her. She did not know who it is, for it was not Thomas Payne, who came because he disappeared shortly after she was convicted of her crimes she committed.
Her cell door opened up she was put in chains and shackles and was following the prison guard who was taking her to the visitors room where she did not know by then who it still was.
By the time, the guard showed her to the visitor’s room, she saw someone she did not recognize but new it was a reporter.
She went towards the person in her chains and shackles, and sat down across from him, wondering what he wants now since a long time ago nobody cared about her.
However, knew that they knew her, and that is why she had to destroy the men she was with through a ritual except one got away.
She asked the male reporter "what do I owe the visit from a reporter what’s your name by the way so I can get to know you well before I leave for back to my prison cell sir."
The man got enough courage and said “we’ll miss Weston my name is Luke Williams and I would like to hear your story of what happened a long time ago." "With the murders started and when you committed the crimes and were finally sent here”.
She smirked at the young man loving him already and knew she would have a fun time telling him her story to him. Before she asked him “well Mr. Williams are you going to publish my story after I tell you it or not it’s as simple as that to tell you it as long as you publish it alright."
She sees the young man nodding his head yes, at what she said, she finally told him “Well a long time ago, back in 1961 I was a young girl who was wild and rebellious against anything!"
"I was told to do being rich didn’t give me any reason to act normal to anyone!” “I had many of my life ahead of me, before I went here to jail, or prison!” “As I now liked to call it, for the murders I committed, later on from a spell that I used with a ritual in an ancient book that had to do with a blue moon!”
“Nevertheless, one got away and was saved from me and testified against me to put me in here for my crimes." "After he was saved from being killed like all the other men I did to kill and keep me alive and staying young!”
“However, that’s beside the point, later on I will be in my 20’s or 30’s." "However, now that I think about it I was sixteen back then and had just started crushing on one of the sailor’s known as Thomas Payne!”
“When it was the Fourth of July, and he was yelling at the kids for throwing the fourth, of July, cake at each other instead of eating it." "Which I thought of it as funny at the time!” “While he was eating half, of his Fourth of July cake, since it was his birthday’s as much as the other sailors who had the same birthday on the fourth of July as him!”
“Through while still not changing his weight from eating too much of his cake, as well!” “Which shocked me a bit, it is not the point of the matter, no it is the principle of the matter, of which I had him, be my target, and the get close to him, and find out what he is thinking.
“And if it’s different, then what I get from everyone else, in this town that I lived in right now!” “I’m deciding on what to do with my target, and what could happen with him who is different, than when I’m not with him!”
“Which today was not, because, he had a big crowd around him, and the other sailors, that I knew had to go away!”
“I waited for a few hours until I knew the crowd will dispersed and go away soon, but will the sailor of my first target still be there once the crowd is gone!”
Stephanie was still thinking of the past as she was still going to tell the story to her visitor who is the reporter. Who wanted to publish her story into a book and have her be famous as Stephanie would like to see it happen for her.
She still begin to tell her story “As I was still young Luke I was going to have everything for me, and of what I wanted the most out of my life was Thomas Payne who I wanted with my whole heart!" "Even if I had been with the other men I still wanted him the most." "Knowing this I knew the crowed had to go but I did not know how to make a scene or how all of them will leave like I wanted them to but I still waited for my time."
"The moment where half the crowed will be gone or the crowed will soon be gone but I kept thinking about the time when I can approach him."
"I wanted to see if he’ll be able to go out with me, seeing as how he was older than me and possibly I think eighteen or nineteen years old at the time."
"I knew I had to have him more than any of the other sailors, whom I was somewhat interested in compared to him who I was into him, more than anything, in the world was."
Stephanie kept telling her story to him, “I knew there was going to be a time and a chance to get back at him." "However, I did not know how to do that, or have my time to be near him for that matter even if I was going to try and get his attention to me.”
She watched the reporter looking at her with interest of the story that she told him of her life. She wondered sometime if she is able to get out of this high tech security prison before she cracks from the pressure of it.
As she continued to tell her story to the reporter, “well to say that I wanted to have fun with him and have him possibly be with me." "The both of us can go steady together as the term was used back then." "Before it became changed to let us say for this day and age to go out with me." "I became older, like I am now, and I still wanted to be with him no matter the cost of it." "At the time, I knew it was my chance to get him, but I knew I had to try before the crowd dispersed."
Soon the time began, when the crowd soon dispersed by the time, before it reached mid afternoon. I knew I had to act my part to get a grasp on him, as I always wanted to do and have him for myself.
As the attention and excitement for myself calls for it and I knew it had to be done so I decided to approach him Just as the sailors began to leave and hoped I can catch him before he left as well.”
“Now that I think about it, I did approach him back then, and he ruined my life after that, and knew that I would never trust him anymore.
Flashback
Stephanie saw it as her chance and when the coast is clear, before he left she walked straight towards Thomas and knew she would like to have him be hers.
When she approached him, he looked at her with a weird look and said, “Do you need help with something miss, because I am wondering why you’re close to me at such an hour." "When I need to be off and go to the hotel and sleep, shouldn’t you be at home where your parents are, are they not looking for you.”
Stephanie became angry but she hides it very well as she said, “I would like for you to go steady with me, I know this is strange to you but will you go steady with me.”
Stephanie looked at him and noticed now he had a sarcastic and mean look towards her said, “Of course not go home where you belong little girl I will never go out with you so leave.”
Stephanie became even more upset and could not hold in her anger any longer.
While keep looking towards said, “you will be sorry one of these days when you see me Thomas Payne." "You will regret saying to me what you just said to me twice in the future." "I will leave you alone for now but in the future you have better not have a bad disposition to me again for the third time." "Because the problem will backfire on you.”
Thomas looked towards her and said, “I do not think to care what you say little girl now go home so I will not be bothered by you anymore.”
Stephanie soon became angry but walked away after he left and knew he would regret saying anything mean to her, when she becomes older as the years pass by soon.
Stephanie stopped in her story to smirk and smile towards the male reporter who wanted to know more about her story. She has been wanting to tell him about, or anyone for years since she has been incarcerated inside her prison cell.
With waiting to be out of the cell and prison, she is in by the time her parole hearing comes soon in two days time.
Stephanie hopes for this male reporter to come back to see her because she would like to finish telling her story.
With wanting to know him after she tells him the rest of the story tomorrow morning when he comes to see her for their meeting. Soon to learn more about her and her story she will finish to tell him about.
However, for now Stephanie said, “This has been a pleasure of telling you my story Luke but I must go soon." "Because the time is almost up for me visiting you!” “So I hope to see you tomorrow for me to tell you more of my story Luke goodbye!”
Before Luke said something about their being time still left for her and him to talk more, she called out, “Please Be At My Hearing in Two Days In, Court to Vouch, For My Innocence Luke!”
Luke nodded his head yes admired still by her beauty and said, “I will Try to go to your hearing in two days Stephanie and I will come tomorrow to learn more about your story which you will be finished telling me Stephanie bye!”
]Stephanie called out to him, “Bye Luke See You Soon Tomorrow Morning!” After he left Stephanie smirked knowing she has him right where she wants him.
Soon feels bad for using him though and wants to keep him for herself, and never let him go, even if one of these days she does be free of this prison.
She will have to thank him, and convince him to ask her out soon before long or else her memoires will come back to her for the third time.
After he left Stephanie is escorted back through the doors back to her cell where she was in the morning. Before having a meeting with the handsome Luke and telling him half of her whole story about her life growing up to him.
Stephanie decided to eat the dinner provided for her, and then head to sleeping on her bunk, since her cell is a special cell just for her for safety reasons, of which she could either, harm others or herself.
