Got a new printer today, so the book construction project is back on! Some time, anyway. I'm already behind on MayNo...

Elgard: (looking around) Library, huh? Siana: Yeah. Have a seat.
(Elgard leans on the back of Siana's chair and looks at her notebook)
S: Hey, leave that alone! You're not supposed to find out what's in that book, Elgard. E: My whole life story in two and a half A5 pages? S: Just leave it alone and sit down. It was bad enough that you were hanging around while I was in the shower this morning, but now you're bugging me at school? Why don't you go and find some pants without holes in them for your date tonight? E: (shrugs) I don't have any. S: All right, you can take a look in the notebook if you agree to let Keira and Rhiannon take you shopping tomorrow night.
Oh, that made him leave...
I guess I should just give him what he wants. Er... right now that's Keira, hot chips, and a quiet spot down on the waterfront. I'm a little concerned about what he's got in mind and I was going to ask. Well, at least now I know he's afraid of shopping.

Now Elgard and his buddy Dean are both hanging around keeping an eye on me. It's fun, but I wish they'd leave Toby alone. This happened on Wednesday while waiting for library industry class to start...
(Elgard and Dean walk in and sit in the other two chairs at my table. Dean has his feet on the table, which would make the cleaning lady really mad if she could see him. Toby isn't in class, but he's still around somewhere - I can hear water dripping into his puddle of water. Which he's still lying in.)
Toby: I'm not coming out, either. Siana: Oh, yes you are. Messing with the Games Master is one thing, but I'm your storyteller. Anyway, I don't need you right now so you can just stay and soak for a while longer.
(Elgard and Dean both look at me curiously, wondering who I'm talking to)
Siana: Just ignore Toby, guys. He's going through a really rough time at the moment and I haven't had the chance to sort him out yet. Dean: We're more fun than him, right? Siana: I don't know about that...
(Dean and Elgard look at each other again, confused that Siana actually seems to like the weird guy in the puddle.)
Siana: Well, he's a nice guy. Go and poke through his end of the book if you're really bored. No, not now!
(Siana slaps Dean's hand away.)
Elgard: You know, you could be writing right now. Dean: Ignore him, Siana. He's just desperate to get back to his date.
(After that they started arguing. Apparently Dean's not allowed to date Elgard's sister even though he's at a nightclub with her right now...)
Edit: and I actually came here to post the next bit, but slow internet meant I was reading my notebook while waiting for the page to load and I got distracted...
Goals for Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Party! (my birthday Saturday ;D) Write 13k Read Chosen (sorry Austine, still haven't done that...) Finish the printing and binding project for Frozen Tear

Slight improvement to the MayNo stats today - finally cracked 10k! I'm on 13k now, which is only 5k behind...
As far as my goals for the weekend, though...
1) party! - done 2) write 13k - no (wrote 7.4k) 3) read Chosen - no (although I did start it...) 4) bind Frozen Tear - no as well
Oh well, at least the partying was a success. I got an awesome blanket and a clock that looks like a can of sardines. Also cake. Lots of cake.

I'm now on WriYe, working on making even more people lose their minds... I wrote 2.7k today, too. I might be able to catch up after all...

Finding people to argue debate with about planning and editing And some 'comeback' - I'm 12k behind at the moment and Toby is being a pain. Shuddup, Toby. I'm doing my best.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who's way behind! About as far back as you, too. We'll have to motivate each other, hmm? What say we have a race to see who can catch up first? ;P

Okay - and the winner gets a whole crate of virtual chocolate!
Maybe we should have a catch-up challenge somewhere, where everyone who's behind posts how far behind they are and then nominates a number of days they think they can catch it up in...

Now I have an "I'm so stuffed" challenge on YearRound where everyone gets to post how far behind they are and try to reduce it to 0. Since I left my flash drive at home I'm now somewhere around 13k behind... I've been writing, though. Kind of, anyway. It's time to get all those pesky mid-year assignments done, so I spent a while today writing a role play between myself and a fictional middle manager named Colin. Colin is a very bad man - he tried to get back into the building during a fire drill... I hate this guy. He may end up being a character one day, though. An obnoxious, fat, balding middle manager with a little spot on his jaw that he always misses when he shaves. His wife fixes it for him sometimes, but they're not as close as they used to be now that the kids are in college... Zombie fodder ... and I can't believe I not only roleplayed an OHS scenario (with myself) but also posted it. PS: OHS/WHS are the same thing - occupational/workplace health and safety.

I think Colin might be in the story about the writer who's being stalked by her MC. Maybe a boss or an agent or something? I'm actually getting an idea. Maybe the bad part of May is drawing to a close... *crosses fingers*

And now I have the guy who said this wandering around my head...
"You're suggesting that finding a window into my world means that you created me? What kind of blind arrogance is that?"
I have no idea who this guy is, but he's now a constant, silent presence in my mind as he waits for me to figure out who he is and what he's doing here. It's getting kind of crowded in my head at the moment.
Edit: For some reason his name seems to be Starburn...

I don't know if any of you guys have read Fangs (formerly untitled vampire story) but this really scared me...
(It's from Hope, by the way)
Elgard and Blade both had an evil ex-girlfriend called Stella...
Could they actually be the same girl? I guess the timing is probably wrong, though, because I'm pretty sure Blade met his Stella post-apocalypse and it's already four apocalypse-free years since Elgard's Stella dumped him.

(Siana, Elgard and Dean sitting around a table outside the cafeteria. Dean has his feet on the table and Elgard is using two chairs.)
Siana: Guys, your story sucks. I'm about to do something violent or messy... Elgard: No, don't. Just go with the Friday the 13th festival and me and Keira on the beach... Siana: There's a beach between Lakesview and Blackwick? Elgard: Sure there is. Dean: He's right, Siana. I vote messy and violent, by the way. Elgard: You would. You're only a supporting character. Messy and violent means it happens to me or Keira.
(Siana gets out a sandwich and is a little irritated hen the boys turn out to have cups of coffee. She glares at them and wonders if maybe Starburn would get her a cup.)
Dean: Who's Starburn? Anyway, we'll get you coffee if you want it.
(A cup of coffee is put on the table in front of Siana and she looks quickly over her shoulder. All she sees is a hint of the hand and something that might have been a tattoo or a bracelet.)
Dean: Was that your Starburn? Siana: Yeah, Stalker boy extraordinaire. I'm already starting to think of things with the initials SB to call him... Elgard: Like Siana Blackwood?"
(Siana throws a spare pen at Elgard's head.)
Dean: Wow, and I thought I was the biggest pain out of me and Elgard. Siana, drink the coffee the nice stalker brought you. Elgard: And stop throwing things at me. Dean: Yeah, only Rhiannon and me get to do that. Siana: So... any thoughts on messy and violent? Elgard: (hopefully) Scrap the idea entirely? Dean: Well, after last night Rhiannon is about ready to kill me... Elgard: Hey, you slept with my sister? Dean: Yeah, and now she's going to kill me. Siana, this is all your fault. You should know I was going to get into trouble if you threw Rhiannon at me.
(Siana sips her coffee, not sure whether to be surprised or not that her stalker knows how to make a perfect cup.)
Dean: So what's the plan for this messy violence? Siana: Oh, I'll think of something...

Starburn? JulNo, probably... (if I can hold him off that long) There's this story idea I had a while back about an author who is being stalked by a main character from an unfinished series. It turns out the author really had some kind of interdimensional portal or something and she was actually receiving snippets of the lives of real people. They had some kind of connection to her as well and when things get really bad in their world they send a hero (Starburn) through the portal to get help from someone they think is their goddess. Needs planning first, though, because it's at least three stories in one. There's the one the author (whose name I don't know ) wrote, the real story of what happened in Starburn's world and of course the story I have to write, which takes place in the author's world as well as Starburn's world... For some reason Starburn decided that stalking me was the best way to give me enough material to be able to get together a story for him. I don't mind, I guess, although he's deserted me today for some reason... Edit: and then Starburn came back while I was at WriYe... (the next bit is copied from there) I hadn't seen him all day (still have no idea where he was most of that time) but a couple of minutes ago while I was thinking about camels for an entirely different story he came wandering back into the writing cave after having a shower. In honour of Towel Day, he's wearing a towel that says 'don't panic' in large, friendly letters. Too bad. I am panicking. There's an imaginary guy with damp hair, tats and a six pack sitting in a chair in my room. Wearing a towel. *dies*
