I just found out about this movie this morning. I swear I had no idea it existed when I wrote Dispersion.

Nobody will ever believe me now, though. Especially when the opening scene of the trailer shows Thor beating the living daylights out of a bunch of guys as he escapes from what looks to me like some kind of medical/scientific research setup. You'll never guess what happened in the start of Dispersion...

I know it's not really all that similar, but it's enough to make me feel kind of weird about it. I don't care about the rest of the movie, but watching that guy fight and imagining him with longer hair and those two plaits in his beard that Oskar has.... Shivers down the spine, man.

Must edit and publish Frozen Tear before someone does something that reminds me frighteningly of Evan. He'll probably turn out to be the Doctor after Matt Smith or something.

It's okay, I'm not that worried really. It just kind of threw me seeing someone who looked so much like Oskar.

Must be another one of those feelings only writers get. Maybe I should start a list of them.

By the way - shock, amazement, alarm and 'has the world gone mad?' type sentiments are currently floating around my brain because Mum read Fangs...

... and liked it.

She's not happy about things like my characters actually being able to run a Hummer in a post-apocalyptic world and where the non-vampire characters get their food, but she wants me to keep working on it.

Any thoughts from you guys?

Failed Wriday with 3,310 of my intended 5k. :(On the other hand, both DW and NWS are over 35k, so I've got my April Fools goal of 70k. Even better, I just cracked 400k for the year. I feel pretty good about that one.

Internet is slow, so if I don't post much until next week, that's why. It requires much patience to deal with the internet at 64k.

On the bright side... I'm listening to a new Poisonblack album, I've won April Fools (on 87k right now and still not quite up to where I want to end the month on one story), computer is working and I'm drinking coffee out of a beer stein.

Also contemplating planning/editing/rewriting and wondering where I should start. Too many choices. Maybe I'll leave it alone and declare 2012 the Year of Editing a D*** Lot. Can't really, of course. I need to add some editing projects during this year, I guess.

Thinking of going back to something old and painful for WrDaNoJu. It's called Dark Star and it's that story - the story I've poked at on and off for a long time and never actually been able to finish. Bits of it keep wanting to pop up in other stories and ten years after I first had the idea for it, the characters still pop up in my head every now and then suggesting what might be going to happen.

Started MayNo at midnight...

Hope (rebadged Darkness Within) - Elgard avoiding me. Nothing new there. I may throw him into the character chat and see how he copes. Even though I know he'd cope badly and he's just too adorable for me to want to torment him. This was Elgard at the start of AF. He hasn't changed much.

Siana wanders into Elgard's loungeroom and sits in one of the comfortable chairs. "Okay, Elgard, you've been in the story," she says. "It wasn't so bad, was it?"
Elgard doesn't say anything. He's asleep again.
"Hey, wake up!" Siana says. "Don't make me throw a pillow at your head!"
Elgard opens one eye to see if Siana is actually holding a pillow. Siana quickly finds one behind the seat and brandishes it threateningly. Elgard beckons with one hand and Siana is about to throw the pillow when she realises that Elgard just wants to catch it and sleep on it. Siana reaches behind her seat again and this time comes up with a water-filled balloon.
"You don't want to mess with me, boy," she says. "Look, I gave you a nice house, a cool guitar, a recording studio in your loungeroom..."
"You think I don't know what's coming, Siana?" Elgard asks.
"Hey, you can't know how the story goes! Anyone would think you're in my head or something... Oh, right. Well... at least you get Keira. That's worth it, isn't it?"

Night Without Stars - Toby. He started out cuddling Sachiko. Then he woke up. Not fun (for him) and very intense (for me). Explains the 'still awake at 2:30 am', I guess.
