Alright, so my WiP, Chosen, is getting close to the end (I think) and I've drafted a synopsis for it but it needs a lot of work. So, it'd be great if you all could give me some feedback (it's in the first post). And if anyone wants to read Chosen, chapter-by-chapter as I finish, let me know.

So is Chosen kind of loosely based on the story of Theseus and the Minotaur?

Theseus and the Minotaur was greek mythology.
King Minos of Crete was given this white bull for his birthday or something, only his wife fell in love with it and they had a baby (the half-bull, half-human minotaur). Minos banished the Minotaur to the labyrinth and for some reason I forget right now Theseus's father's kingdom had to send seven young people every year to be eaten by the Minotaur. One year Theseus was in the group and he seduced Minos's daughter Ariadne into helping him kill the Minotaur, saving everyone from a grisly fate.
Then Theseus dumped Ariadne and took off with her sister...

Well, it started as this weird reoccurring dream I had when I was younger about being trapped in a Labyrinth (probably from reading too much Greek mythology, so yeah, the labyrinth part is, I guess. The rest I made up, though it's possible it helped influence Chosen). Chosen kind of went from being all about the character getting out of the Labyrinth, but things began to change... But thinking about it, I think Theseus and the Minotaur definitely was the starting point for the novel.

Thanks! And, well, if I keep these chapters short like I have been, I'm not that close, but definitely going to finish before the school year's over as long as I don't get too swamped (what with 3 weeks of state testing coming up this month and all)

July? Oh no. Our school year is over at the beginning of June (even less time)

I was being nice and giving extra time, since for my school, school's over in june, but then there's 2 weeks for exams, then 2 weeks later are report cards hehe so I count that as school but not very much hehe

Ah. We have final (exams) at the beginning of June (sometimes end of May, depending on when they last day of school is) then we're done. We get report cards the last day of school. So I guess I really only have 'til the end of May since I'll be studying for finals and such afterward.

I was almost done, then I realized the novel would never be finished so I ended it quickly with a cliffhanger and got my proof copy. It actually could be a novel if I took the time to edit it (unlikely, what with my procrastination skills and all)

Haha Yeah, I was almost done, and then with computer breaking, that wasn't fun, but I managed to edit and write and finish before the end, so happy with that

I stopped caring about that novel. It's officially my first trunk novel and I plan to keep it that way. It's absolutely awful!

I'm glad that HDF didn't have very major edits-just adding some words here and there, no real change to plot or adding or subtracking scenes
